Behaviour of Digital Consumers

Do you know what's Web 2.0?

First, it's not a food. (like-duh~) haha. It's neither a software or an application. Obviously it's not the latest gadgets! It's not a trademark, it's not a patent.

SO WHAT IS IT?
it is simply a word used to define a set of technologies and new ways of communications through the internet. in another words, web 2.0 is something that most of us are spending majority of our time on these days! (:

web 2.0 is some sort of like a revamp? improvement? of Web 1.0.
web 1.0 is a system of statical websites that hardly allow interaction with the user. it's simply 1 way communication of passing the information to the user.

let's get back to our web 2.0! since it's 2.0 -- it's more like a 2 way communication made possible by the net! Today, users have the possibility of interact with whole network thanks to the different way of communications as social network, blogs, forums and chats.

This approach underlines the SOCIAL function of internet and this is when sharing made anywhere, everywhere with ANYBODY and EVERYBODY be it images, documents, notes, etc.

The philosophy is different now as compared to web 1.0. Not only can they share content, they can make their own, manipulate, and use them! One example would be the wikipedia.
The revolution of communication have begun!

now that we keep improving and wanting to give users the best... we've got the WEB 3.0!

so, what's web 3.0?! it is also known as the Semantic Web, a place where machine can read web pages like how human reads it so the software agents can better troll the net and find what we're looking for! (i seriously think this is scary! ;S)

“It’s a set of standards that turns the Web into one big database,”
Nova Spivack, CEO of Radar Networks, one of the leading voices of this new-age Internet

web 3.0 make task search easier. it will analyze your response, search the Internet for all possible answers, and then organize the results for you. What's more, the results that you're searching for will be based on your personal profile/ browsing experience. WOW! being a programmer myself.. thinking of how to make that possible. poof* salutes! i seriously admire that team!

However, though it sounds cool and amazing.. I think humans will then slowly turn lazier and undecisive isn't it? cos now we've got the web to do everything for us? Well.. this is just my sudden thoughts while i was trying to understand what web 3.0 provides... hmmms... random la uh.. (:

let's say i've got to purchase a laptop for my schoolwork. i will first ask my daddy how much is he willing to invest for me! hahaah! okay serious.
as a digital consumer, i will think aloud by posting on twitter, facebook and blog about which laptop is suitable because i know my friends will be there to comment about it. cos they're like 24/7 there! of course, from my news feed i would have read about my friends past experience of certain products. So definitely, that may help by eliminating some out. and from there... i'll then decide by myself again. I'll look upon its Specs, Price and Customer Service. (;
